So I usually use two colors for my shading, but I've decided to just stick to one bold color. That way it's just: base color, shadows, and highlights. Trying to not make things any more complicated lol. Coming up with designs for this "cut-out background" style is kind of interesting. This one kind of reminds me of legos, or those cut-away houses for dolls.
This looks really good, I like it because it remind me about my Family when where at Galdhøpiggen in Norway. The cozy felling. I like the detail about the Stairs for Angel on the chimney side (If i'm not wrong). The detail you put into Fluttershy is also really good. But I which you could have put Angel in this piece if art to :/
The floor look a bit odd tho. The transaction between the clean wood and the Green painted one isn't really that appealing. The Fire sparks look a bit weird to.
But overall, this is a nice peace of art and you deserve this rating: 4,375
THIS. IS. GREAT! I LOVE IT! This works perfectly for the circular effect! I also love how the floor looks like it's isolating her in her own little cozy world! It is a very original idea! I've never seen a drawing like this! This one made me go so loudly everyone in the room stared at me! The sparks are great, and the steam that slowly lighter is amazing! The rosy glow from the fire is realistic and heartwarming, and the mane is just perfect! She seems really happy and content, even though her animals are asleep for the winter. This is my new head canon for what she does during the winter!
This is amazing. I can tell you've been working on perspective since you did that picture of Pinkie frosting cupcakes, and the improvement really shows in this one.
